- The Serengeti: The theater of the Great Migration. We track the herds across the Mara River (July–Oct) and the southern calving plains (Jan–Feb).
- Ngorongoro Crater: A “Natural Wonder of the World.” A self-contained ecosystem offering the best chance to see the rare Black Rhino.
- Tarangire National Park: The land of giants. Home to massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees that dominate the horizon.
- Lake Manyara: Famous for its tree-climbing lions and the pink hue of thousands of flamingos against the Great Rift Valley wall.
The 7-Day “Iconic North” Itinerary
- Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park: Depart the city for the “Land of Giants.” Spend the afternoon among massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.
- Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara: A scenic drive to the Great Rift Valley. Search for tree-climbing lions and navigate the groundwater forest teeming with baboons.
- Day 3: Manyara to Central Serengeti: Ascend the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend into the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in Seronera, the predator capital of the world.
- Day 4: The Great Migration (North or South Serengeti: A full day dedicated to the herds. Depending on the season, we position you at the Mara River crossings or the southern calving plains.
- Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands: A final sunrise game drive in the Serengeti before heading to a lodge perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.
- Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Floor: Descend 600m into the caldera for a “lost world” experience. This is your best chance to spot the rare Black Rhino.
- Day 7: Karatu to Arusha: A relaxed morning visit to a local Maasai market or coffee plantation before returning to Arusha for your departure.
